Behind everyone's story, is always our mothers' story because her's is where our's begin. As a pro-lifer, I believe it starts from the second we're conceived.
In that moment, we are not aware of ourselves but our mothers are and they do their best to sustain us in their belly until we are ready for the world. It takes a lot for a small ball of cells to turn into an actual human being. But no one ever talks about it.
As you maybe aware, it takes 9 months for a human being to be formed. The months are divided into 3 trimesters with each containing 3 months.
The first 3 months are not as easy as most people think. The body is busy welcoming something new and this leaves the mother exhausted. She could sleep like a log for 10 hours and still wake up very tired. Not forgetting the hunger that one can't feed because of the nausea. And then feeling nauseous because she is hungry 😤. Basically, the first trimester is like one long all day hangover, except the only thing she did the previous night was sleep.
In the second trimester, the mother somewhat recovers her energy as her belly starts to protrude. But sometimes you can't tell if she ate too much or if it's a baby bump. Then she starts to feel the baby kick and wiggle about in her belly. It's a beautiful feeling but can be sometimes annoying when the baby decides to put all their weight on the mother's bladder making her go for endless trips to the bathroom even in the middle of the night.
In the third trimester, the belly is all out whereby the mother could drop something on the floor and just walk away cursing. Everyone is also constantly reminding them that they're pregnant. At this stage, the mother can also barely see her feet. It's frustrating, to say the least.
Finally, the time comes for the baby to join the world but I wont talk about it. It's a whole different painful story for most mothers. I could talk about a whole load of things on the pregnancy journey (fatigue, mood swings and anxiety) but it wouldn't fit on this page. However, pregnancy is the happiest reason for any aspiring mother to feel like crap. I personally wouldn't trade it for anything.
Therefore, let's appreciate our mother's for just carrying us in their belly even before we start talking about the sacrifices they make to raise us. Happy mother's day to all the beautiful mothers out there!
