Part of My List

Life is short; today passes by so quickly and tomorrow is never promised. That is why we should make our lives as beautiful as we can and relish the simple pleasures of life.

Some of the things I love include the sun beams gleaming through my window, a cup of house coffee with a friend, sliding into my bed with clean sheets, the sound of the ocean and writing. Those are just part of my list. And at the top of my list right now is going on a exhilarating adventure.

The furthest I've travelled is uganda. Every time I visit Uganda, there is always something exiciting to do but I've always wondered what it's like to raft in the Nile.

The Nile, I'd say, is one of the most
exhilarating rivers in the world so tackling its huge rapids would be a promising adventure. However, it's not as simple as it seems; the monstorous tide are sure to get your adrenaline kicking.

Getting to Jinja is at most two hours from Kampala but that would likely get one tired before the white water rafting begins. Therefore, one can camp at the banks of the river with BBQ, beers, campfire and music. There are also other more luxurious options.

After camping and restoring the energy needed, one is provided with a helmet and life jacket followed by a safety talk at the serene banks of the river. The adventurers are given the safe or exiciting option to choose from for the rafting.

Being cautious I would chose the safe option which still would be quite an adrenaline rush for me. There would always be the lingering feeling that the raft would tip over under the water and the enormous tides would swallow me but if I survive it, then it would be worth the while.

I  know I would never get over the goose bumps every time I remember that I spent most time in the air than I did afloat on the water holding on for dear life as other people got thrown in to the roaring tides. This may not be a good idea for people who are afraid of water because in this expendition, they'll get alot water coming to them.

Anyhow, there is never much to worry about as there is always a guide and safety kayaks around if anyone gets in the water. There are also bigger rafts provided which can avoid the big  tides.

Being in the wild with green scenery in the summer (the best time to go rafting) all around makes this a worth while experience. This is just one of the things I would love to do before I'm old and grey
